Restaurants near the Galveston cruise port
A meal before you board, or the first thing you want after a cruise. Here is where to eat close to the terminals.
Every seat is protectedDowntown and the Strand, near Terminals 25 and 28
The historic Strand District is the closest dining to the downtown terminals, which makes it convenient for a meal before you board or a sit-down before you head to the airport. Local options include waterfront seafood at Willie G's and Fisherman's Wharf, Greek plates at Olympia Grill, the well-known breakfast and brunch spot Mosquito Cafe, and Shrimp 'N Stuff for fried Gulf shrimp and po'boys.
If your ship sails from Terminal 25 or 28, you can reach most of these on foot or with a very short drive.
Seawall Boulevard, on the beach
Along the Gulf, Gaido's has served Galveston seafood for over a century and is the usual special-occasion choice, with plenty of casual beach eateries nearby for something quicker. This area pairs well with a Seawall hotel the night before.
Timing your meal around the shuttle
If you are flying in and out the same day, a shared shuttle keeps the schedule simple, since you are not parking or circling for a spot before you eat. Book a Houston to Galveston shuttle from IAH or Hobby, and for the ride home our return shuttles run 8 AM to 5 PM.
Staying over? Pair a meal with a park-and-cruise hotel and a few island things to do. Hours and menus change seasonally, so check current listings before you go.
Prefer to skip the driving?
Our shared vans run this route for a flat $39 per seat, and every seat is protected. Reserve your seats or see the schedule.
